'Resurrection' Receives Oscar Nomination:
In a somewhat
groundbreaking revelation, The Academy has announced that 'Tupac: Resurrection'
has been nominated for an award in the Best Documentary category.
The film was directed by critically-acclaimed Emmy-nominee Lauren Lazin, and was
screened in 2003 to rave reviews. Afeni Shakur is said to be delighted
that the film, which was produced under her Amaru Entertainment company, has
been recognised for its worth. This year's academy awards will be
broadcast on February 27th. --

December 2004: Tupac
& Eminem Top The Charts: 'Loyal
To The Game', the seventh album to be released since Tupac died, has reached the
#1 spot in the US billboard charts. The album allegedly came about when
Eminem revealed his ambition to 'work' with Tupac - something he did not achieve
before 'Pac's death. Afeni Shakur gave Eminem licence to produce this
album, which features unrelease Tupac material, interestingly re-worked, and
featuring a bevy of collaborations, including a contribution from Elton
John. The album sold an impressive 330,000 copies in its first week.
